Cardiff International Swimming Venue
The regeneration of Cardiff Bay continues with the building of an International Sports Village to support the 2012 Olympics. Cardiff International Sports Village is one of the most exciting sports venues in Europe, based around the themes of water, snow and ice.
Orion Land & Leisure and Cardiff City Council wanted the pool to be the centrepiece building of the new International Sports Village. Auxilium was responsible for the co-ordination of the M&E services for this state of the art leisure facility.
The complex consists primarily of a 50 metre 10-lane competition pool, along with a 25 metre warm up/warm down pool that also acts as a training pool and the principal focus of the extensive leisure pool facility. Added to this is a wide range of leisure, health and fitness facilities providing a versatile sporting venue for use both internationally and domestically.
Auxiliums’ early involvement in the project, the collaborative working strategy and implementation of a range of innovative solutions including off-site manufacturing enabled the project to be delivered within the time frame demanded for this international venue.
